Thank you Oprah!

I hope every mom has a dvr or tivo and taped this weeks Oprah talking about Mom's and the hidden truths. I was sold in the first 5 minutes when she said, "Every mom needs a wife." Genius. Also, the hands that flew up when she asked, " How many of you mom's would trade your husband for a housekeeper!" I thought to myself, I need to get Terri back.. I know the economy is bad, but before I trade my husband I need my sweet helper back twice a month! ( I let her go when Zach was laid off and thought how hard could it be to keep the house clean?!) It was so much fun and relaxing to watch. I am the honest one when people ask (especially new moms) about child birth and being a mom. I can honestly say it is the best job in the world, most rewarding and the hardest at the same time. Child Birth did not bother me, I had an epidural and both kids came out with out too much pain.. however, no one ever mentioned the worst part of child birth is when your chest fills up with milk! I remember thinking, " What in the world have I gotten myself into... my chest was in so much pain and the thought of someone feeding/squeezing from it sent me overboard! Not to mention my babies did not take to nursing very well (Or come to think of it, it was probably me who did not take to it. ) Which did not matter, bc you had to do it.. it was the best thing for the baby everyone told me and wanting to be the best mother ever, I was going to do it! I did, for 6 long months with Wyatt. Zach remembers coming home everyday and I would have pour a glass (or glasses by the time he came home!) of wine at 4 Pm with my cheese tray and crackers and have a snack with Oprah. I felt so isolated with Wyatt that I really felt Oprah and I bonded during the first months of Wyatt's birth! It was hard going from a job where you were "important" and interacting with people all day long to sitting at home with a newborn that I had no idea how to take care of . Everything scared me... especially chocking. I do not think I let him eat solid food until he was 1.. I was terrified! When he slept I would get up and hold my hand across his body to see if he was breathing.. all though the night... then I would turn him so his head would not get flat. I sanitized everything.. including the swings at the park and worry constantly. ... Then June came along and something clicked.. I thought, " I can do this." and she has been so enjoyable. She never ate baby food went straight to table food, she is so independent and touches everything (yes, even things that are not sanitized!) She showed me how to enjoy both her and Wyatt without the worrying about the little things.. (That and the fact my Dr put me on hormone drugs to level myself out! ) I love the honestly of moms, we are not perfect and sometimes all I feel like I do is say "no!" and find myself singing the Mickey Mouse song in my head, oh and realized showers without children in your bathroom going through your makeup drawers are a luxury! How life changes!

Time flies at the Doss house

Am I cute or what?!
So I am a cute tomboy with my tool box

June really loves to read... and has more patience than Wyatt did at her age. She will sit down and actually let you read her two or three books.

Wyatt is very distressed about Ally's car.. Our neighbor had her car sitting out front and he saw the other car run into it turning a corner too close. Wyatt is a huge car fan to it really hurt his feelings to see one that was "crashed." He told me it was at the Dr's office getting fixed... Which beings me to his new business. D&M Racing.. (Doss and McNeal Racing) He told me this week he was going to work.. Usually that means Odessa for some reason but this time he said... to race cars. Then proceeded to tell me he was going to be a race car driver and drive a green car and Hudson was going to drive the blue one. I asked him about Brock and Wyatt said he was going to build the engines to go super fast. At this point, it would not surprise me if he became a race car driver!

Zach is so good about giving teh kids a bath everynight. I usually have run out of patience by bath time and find myself better off cleaning the kitchen! Zach called me in the other night to show me the new "hair do's" I do not think June is a fan... but ...
Wyatt loves his!

Emily June Doss 14 months old...

Miss Independent... always off finding something new to get into.

This week has been good. Wyatt and June both are well... and so fun to be around. June does EVERYTHING Wyatt does. Good and Bad. She is his little shadow and he really wishes she would go away! I have noticed lately they are playing better together.. I just try to let them play "alone" and work things out.
IT is hard to believe June is 14 months already.. she has 4 more teeth on top. They look like Vampire teeth and I am afraid I might have a "biter." She was playing cars in the Dr's office yesterday and a little boy took on from her so she just sunk her little vampire teeth in him to let him know that was not acceptable. It was such a natural thing for her and it shocked me. So, that is another challenge to add to the list in the Doss house. Along with Wyatt's potty training, talking hard, cleaning up our toys, eating our dinner... on and on! Back to June, she is talking up a storm her favorite new words this week are "airplane" and " all aboard." Yes, Wyatt loves trains and airplanes! She eats like a horse and smiles the minute she gets up. She is a daddy's girl still, but loves to cuddle with me as well. Girls are so funny, bc you can see from the pictures she loves her flowers, purses, necklaces, but also tool belts, outside bugs etc! We are so blessed to have her and I think God everyday for both of our children.

First time on stage

Wyatt is in the navy, front row!
Second song, loosening up!

Today at CBS we had a treat. The little kids came in and sang to all the Moms in big group. Wyatt walked in all proud, then turned around and his eyes got big. I was so proud of him and at the same time I knew exactly what he was feeling. When I was very young I had the same experience with my girlfriend Emily when we went on stage at a local theater and I froze! I have major stage freight and I was hoping Wyatt would not get it! I have to say, after today I think he might! They sang three songs and by the second, he was not as stiff.. and did better. I had that proud mom feeling and yet wanted to cry at the same time. He is growing up so fast and so handsome! Can you tell I am proud?!
(If you do facebook there is a video Paige took of them singing.. it is pretty cute! Thanks Paige for pictures and video!)

Our trip to the Ft Worth Zoo

We were there early, so we entertained ourselves before the zoo opened... This is suppose to hold water bottles, not kids.. we figured that out when it tipped!
I told Wyatt he could pick something out while we were waiting and he was so sure he wanted this green snake...He carried it everywhere and even "snake bit" people when I was not looking. (Meaning he went up to strangers and lunged his snake at them.. they were nto too impressed with him!)

Meema looking at the lion on the cliff

My favorite... the petting zoo. This is Gracie Belle who is a 5 week old longhorn.. so sweet.

Mommy and June riding the train 5 times.. I am glad we were not in a hurry, but Wyatt loved the train.

Checking out some animals

June loved the zoo, I was shocked! She was very interested in the animals.

I was trying to explain to Wyatt about the "Joey" and he kept telling me "that is not Joey." I guess he has a friend name Joey.

The very friendly white tiger.. I am nto sure how strong the glass is, but June was not scared of anything.

Riding the stagecoach

Daddy's favorite Zoo animal... June like the Rhino too.

5 mins on the road after the zoo.....

not even out of the zoo parking lot!

Mom and I took the kids over to see my grandmother on Friday morning (a long 9 hr drive!) and had a wonderful time visiting with my grandmother (their G.G.) and family. On the way back Mom had a great idea of stopping off in Ft Worth and going to the zoo to break up the trip and you can see it worked! They had a great time.. June was so into the animals and Wyatt was more about the train... but they slept on the way home so mission completion!

My First Brighton Necklace...

So Handsome!

My necklace

June is 100% girl! She loves jewelry and always takes mine and tries to put it on. I decided it was time for her first real neckace and it had to be Brighton. I worked for Brighton before I had kids and loved the company, they were so good to me and the product is the best out there for the money! Sounds like I still work for them, but I can say it is truely a family company and I loved the people... I miss the people especially days when I have nothing but Diego theme song in my head and wonder if I will ever quit saying the word "No!" So, I went to Merle Norman and she has her first charm necklace with "June" on there. She is so prissy, she wears it proud and loves to show it off. The only problem is Wyatt wants a necklace now, so I have to find a "manly" necklace for him!

Potty Training....

The nightmare contines. Again, another thing never mentioned before becoming a "Mommy" and now I know why.. it is not the fun part of parenting. Wyatt somehow refuses to go to the potty. We have started the potty training thing, so I am afraid to stop so we are battling it everyday. I have tried every trick I have heard, incentives, TV, now we are on the game "sink the Cherrios." The only problem now is he eats the Cherrios before he can throw them in the tiolet. It not help that my dear, sweet friend Jenn trained her son in one week and now her two year old (as of two weeks) is potty trained as well! What is the deal?! I just had to vent my frustration bc I am tied of cleaning up pee, washing and changing clothes. IF they are hard to potty train does this mean they are hard to teach in the future?! IF so, we are in trouble.

Catch up... a week of birthdays!

Happy Birthday Hudson! We love you!
Happy 95th BIRTHDAY G.G.! We love you and look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.

Wyatt showing off with Locker

Locker at the wheel.. watch out!

There will only go in "fast" mode, and it makes me a little nervous, I have to run to keep up with them! Now I know why the jeep came with such good seat belts

Papa and Wyatt on a special boys night. Dad picked Wyatt up took him to dinner and then to the horse show. Wyatt was so excited to wear his boots like Papa and go "by himself." I think Dad had a good time too. I know they had to leave early, but that is Dad's style anyway. He was always afraid to get stuck in traffic at events, so as a kid we always left early! Took the fun out of it sometimes, but we never got stuck in traffic jams!

Handsome boys.

My dare devil.. she does not sit on the four wheeler, she trick rides and claps her hands! I am afraid what this might mean in the future. Just this week Jenn and I were at the park and she is right beside me and within 2 seconds she bolts and goes face first down the slide. She just jumps up and smiles. IT gave us a heart attack.

My sweet girl

Daddy's Cupcake

Papa and Junebug

Working like Daddy, helping in the backyard

Yeah! I have my computer back.. I guess when you do not keep up with your blog every couple of days, you forget what happens! Last week was great because we finally met Miss Elizabeth Anne Johnson. Laura had her Wednesday and went home Thursday.. less than 24 hours later. Clearly the drugs must of been affecting her! (truth is she could not stand to be away from the boys...) They are all doing great, she is a trooper and such a good mommy. We had the pleasure of having Locker yesterday to give her a break and really it was a break for me. My girlfriend Kaylynn said last week on the phone how much easier it was to have two so they can play with each other and I have to agree. June is so young, it is more like bulling at this point with Wyatt, but with Locker they keep each other entertained. June thinks she is big anyway and she tags along wherever they go.

Jenn also had good news this week, her mom is home and doing really well. She had the most complicated surgery and yet is doing fantastic... those women are strong!

My grandmother had her 95th birthday this week too.. so HAPPY BIRTHDAY G.G! We love you more and more and are so grateful to have you with us. Also, Sweet Hudson turned 2! My future son in law is growing up way too fast. I need to get a picture of June and Hudson, they are so sweet together. Who really said arranged marriages were a bad idea? Think about how much knowledge we have compared to young, dumb teenagers?! You should pair them up with someone you love bc you can spend holidays together, live close to each other and vacation together. They grow up with the same views and love so, why not?! It saves heartache and arguments in the long run.
Well we had a good weekend, Skeet and Nini kept the kids Friday night and we enjoyed dinner out and sleeping in on Saturday! That is a mini vacation in itself. Time change always messes us up.. so long for my "its dark outside, time for bed." Wyatt said tonight, " I am not tired, it is not dark!" I have to agree, it messes me up too. June is still screaming as I am typing.. she is not a happy camper!
