Story time

June loves to pull EVERYTHING off this display, why do they do that to mothers... it is like looking at all the candy and balloons while trying to check out at the grocery store.

Wyatt playing with one of his buddies from MDO

These are the things we miss when we are sick! Along with CBS, playgroups, MDO, going outside, etc.. This is from last week at Barns and Nobles .. they have a free story time, but my kids just like to play with the train... but it occupies them enough so Mom and I can enjoy a cup of coffee.

The Flu...

After 3 hours of waiting yesterday we confirmed Wyatt now has the flu. Seriously?! WE just got over RSV for 2 weeks now we are starting to pass this around. He was up all night last night throwing up and high fever. I feel so sorry for him. I have been cleaning like a mad woman in hope he will be the only one... but Dr Nabulsi said wait 2 days and June will have it. Then he said," Did you not give them the flu shot?" Make me feel like a bad mom. NO! I think they get way too many shots anyway!

I talked to Jenn Mc yesterday and she said her mom was out of surgery, but it was more extensive than they thought.. please keep Sheri in your prayers. They installed 18 screws, 15 in rod, and "cages", I think they basically gutted her like a fish and replaced her back with metal rods. So I can only imagine the pain she will be in. She will be in ICU for at least two days then in the hostipal a week after that if everything goes as planned. When she comes home, Jenn will take care of her, I was hoping to get a list of dinners going while Sheri recovers, at least a couple of days a week, bc she will not be able to move around at all. Please send me an email if you want to help out. Sheri has a stong amount of faith.. so please pray for her to keep her strength.

Papa's feeling better

My dad has been pretty sick for a couple of weeks so it is good to see him feeling a little better. Even when he was sick, he had me drive the kids by in the car so he could see them. He is such a good Papa, we love him dearly!

Happy Valentine's Day

What a difference a year makes.. June does not even look like the same child! Wyatt looks like a baby too..why do they grow up so fast?!
remodeling Greentree.. Wyatt wanted to get his tools and help...so grown up!

Nini and Skeet with the kids..

Zach and kids... they never cooperate together!

June dancing.. she is her daddy's girl for sure!

Burning off the HUGE piece of cake!

DESSERT! Wyatt had his two favorite things... sweets and trucks!

WE had a wonderful weekend.. It all started off with our Supper club and the best meal with the best company. Skeet kept both kids and they had a ball. I am not sure who was more tired when we picked them up! Saturday was nice and easy, until I got a little food poising.. but regardless Mom offered to babytsit so that was even better. Thank goodness for grandparents!

We had a nice Valentine's Day lunch today filled with plenty of sweets!

I love reasons to get together for lunch or dinner and Laura gave us a pretty good one. She was against any kind of baby shower but she did let us do a quick girl's lunch to celebrate Elizabeth Anne. We had a good time. Janai's mom made a beautiful quilt, Jenn made sure she was taken care of afterwards with a much deserved facial, and EA did get a few precious girly outfits! We are so excited to meet her, especially since all of our children are passing the baby phase and we need a fix!

Spoke too soon!

Well you might of noticed I have not blogged in a while... that might be because I have been TIRED! I spoke way too soon. Our sweet little girl has determination and a great set of lungs. She is getting better, last night she screamed for 59 minutes and cried, "Mamaaaaaa." Zach was out at a soccer meeting to it was really hard not to go pick her up and hold her. I made it though.

The last week or so has been slow. Zach is still looking for a job, so please keep him in your prayers. We had a baby shower for Laura... she is STILL pregnant! She has been pregnant forever with sweet Elizabeth Anne. Tonight we had our monthly supper club and it was amazing... Jenn fixed the best meal, had a fun game (which I won, even better!), and the best hostess! She had everyone send her their favorite song... we had to then guess which song was who's, and burned everyone a copy of the CD with songs... GREAT IDEA for a party. (In case you are wondering mine is "When you say nothing at all.") (Skeet had both of the kids by himself and they had a ball.)

Zach is doing awesome on his new "Palio" diet... It is not really a diet, but a lifestyle and he has lost so much weight and inches with eating better and working out. Basically my kitchen is now filled with anything you can kill or grow and eat right out of the ground. Nothing processed. It really is not that bad, except I miss chocolate so bad. That is why supper club was that much better bc I ate and ate knowing we would not see that yummy food for awhile!

I am hoping to get some time tomorrow to download pictures and post... just wanted to send an update.

Breaking bad habits

I have to admit I am embarrased to say June has been sleeping in our room and in our bed for the last year... Yes, I know what all the books say and I did not do this with Wyatt and realize it is time for her to meet her crib in her room. I have put it off bc of the anticipation of a horrible, screaming night and waking Wyatt up all night long. (June holds her breath when she is mad, scared or hurt and will literally pass out, turn blue or go limp... it is the scarest thing for a mother.. but apparently a phase for toddlers and somewhat common. I have researched it, and talked to my Dr about it and it will last for a minute, but he assures me she will grow out of it and there will not be any brain damage. Just a sign of temper tantrums... ) Anyway, Zach always puts June down so he wrapped her up (we said a lot of prayers that she would sleep and not scream the minute she sees her pink room) rocked her, and put her in her bed... She slept all night long. Then last night was my night and she was up a few times, but not near as bad as I anticipated. Not to say it could still get worse, but we have done it.. she is in her bed. I do miss having her right next to me, but I know it is the right thing to do.

So on to the next bad habit to break... (I am putting it all out there. )Wyatt still goes to bed with a bottle of warm milk. He will be 3 in May. My Dr told me absolutly no bottles after 1 and here we are approaching 3. Wyatt is the best sleeper and never gives anyone any trouble about going to bed. All he wants is a bottle and a sassy (pacificer- another habit to break, another day!) I have felt like I need to pick my battles and if he walks in his room, goes straight to bed with a bottle then is it necessary to listen to him scream if I take it away? I mean his teeth are going to fall out anyway?! The funny thing is June hates her bottle and wants a cup.. boys and girls are so different.

Lets just keep praying June sleeps in her bed and starts to like her OWN room!

On a side note, on my 25 things below I mentioned my first kiss was Ellis Taylor. I found on Facebook through an old friend in JRH that he was in that miliary helicopter crash on A&M campus Jan 15 and was seriouly injured. I just wish him the best and hope he fully recovers..I just thought that was weird after I blogged that and then hear that news.
