my sorry cake... sorry Jesus!

Of all times to mess up a cake.. the birthday party we had for Jesus on Christmas Eve.. doesn't this look good?! I am so not a cook!

Christmas Pictures...

Every time Wyatt would open up a present he would say " Is it a car?" the kid loves cars!
Look at our new Jeep! I can ride too!

Daddy and Junebug on Christmas Eve
It has been a busy few weeks... Christmas was wonderful this year at the Doss house. Wyatt really got into it and June was right there with him. (All of this after we got over the lovely bacteria infection that June did not seem to pick up..thank the Lord!) Christmas Eve we went to church and then over to my Mom's. We have a wonderful time, we had pizza and a birthday party for Jesus. I am trying to teach Wyatt (and June) the true meaning of Christmas not just the excitement of presents...but presents over take meaning when you are 21/2! We made a birthday cake that afternoon and I just want to apologize to Jesus for the fact it was the ugliest cake I have ever made... but it did taste good. (I substituted pumpkin and yogurt ILO oil and butter and it was sooo good, but I did not wait until the cake was completely cook to decorate... obviously you can see the mess we ended up with.) Wyatt now thinks Jesus is his best friend for all the wrong reasons... bc "Jesus brings me presents and shares with me..." (yes, to some degree this is true). Mom had our favorite Chicken artichoke pizza and wine and it was perfect. June got into the present opening as well.. she received a few adorable dolls (thank you!)and Wyatt named them as we went along. Mauri brought her the most adorable soft Alexander doll and he named it "Sarah" after his favorite teacher at school. Laura gave her an adorable life size doll and it was "Lala" after his favorite Laura... and Dixie had to sing in church Christmas Eve to a doll who was suppose to be baby "Jesus"... so I feel like we really need to take care of that doll! June loves them all!
Saturday morning Papa came over and the kids woke up to see what Santa brought. (Papa) Santa brought Wyatt a jeep that is nicer than my first two cars. It is incredible all the little features it has on it, not to mention a little faster than I would like. Papa also brought over a train (he found at a garage sale for $5) and that has been the favorite toy... who knew! IT does not work quite right so you have to use your "imagination" (at least that is what I told Wyatt.. he came back a few minutes later and asked "where is my nation? I cannot find it anywhere?!")
June actually loves the Gacho and loves to sit next to her brother as he drives her around (they have very good seat belts) It was a fun morning.... we then went over to Skeet and Nini's for Christmas round 3! Nini fixed a wonderful lunch and the kids (and us) were spoiled. Skeet gave Wyatt a firetruck and he loves it.. it has a real bell (thanks Skeet!) that he loves to ring and play like he is a fireman. The day was wonderful and long.. we were all tired just to get up and drive to Shreveport the next day.
Friday we headed to see my Grandmother and Aunt in Bossier City... 10 hours away! I dreaded this trip but all in all they kids did really well and we had a good time. Zach got to escape and play a much needed round of golf and I got to spend time with my sweet grandmother. She is precious and was so excited to see the kids. Once we got home.. Zach and I treated ourselves to a 24hr escape to Dallas to watch what we thought would be a great game.. the only problem is Tech forgot to show up! Regardless of the game, it was nice to eat by ourselves, have a wonderful night with no children. Skeet and Nini kept the kids so thanks for a nice start to the new year.
And we are caught up! Zach and I did set New years resolutions to eat much healthier this year.. I hope we stick to it... I will keep you updated!
