Lets bake!

The kids love to make cookies, mainly bc they eat more dough than anything, but here we are making cooking for Papa about a week ago.

Scuba lessons?

Wyatt was in the shower the other day practicing his "scuba" he said. I have no idea where he learned about scuba diving (probably Diego ) but I thought these pictures were pretty cute!

Hyatt Hill Country retreat

Meema and Wyatt waiting in line for the Disney Christmas train... not exactly what we thought it was going to be after waiting 1 1/2 hrs in line. Can you see the sweat dripping off of us?!
The pathetic family picture inside the train. After several meltdowns in line, sweat pouring down us I figured we need a family picture.. pretty bad! The train was geared towards older kids and there was no Mickey Mouse.. what kind of Disney train does nto have Mickey?!

Bug being silly
What a great place! Back and the hotel...
Pretty girl
Making friends every night- they have a great park area.
Come on sister

Big Girl

The Hyatt Hill County is the ultimate family place. Mom treated us to a wonderful extended weekend and it was truly relaxing. I never thought I would say that with two kids going on a trip, but they think of everything there. The key is not to leave, just to relax and enjoy it. We tried the zoo and to see the Disney train downtown.. but realized it was too hot and the kids just really enjoyed the lazy river and baby pool. I hope to go back very soon!

San Antonio Zoo

Everyone is happy because it is 9AM and the temperate is bareable!
My sweaty little boy so excited for the train ride.. me too, it was a cool train ride.
Sweet baby sister so excited! She loved the children's area where they had animals, she loved chasing the rooster
June and Mommy petting the goat

June admiring the fish
Little farmers
Chasing the chickens
Wyatt fishing and actually caught one!
Meema and the kids ready to go
Admiring the leopard
My animal lover

We had a great time at the Zoo... it was hot, but we stayed long enough to enjoy it without getting miserable. June loves the animals, Wyatt loves the trains.... everyone was happy! Next time, we will ride the train to the Childrens Museum and enjoy the AC and learning experience there!

Where did July go?

Nini's new car. I know where Wyatt gets his love for cars.. the Doss side! It is in his blood.
Bug thinking she is pretty cute driving this car!

Silly glasses... Ms. Elias sent these for the kids and they had a good time yesterday playing with them! Thank goodness there was a green pair.. Wyatt's favorite color and everything has to be GREEN!
Cute picture

Wearing Daddy's boots. They love trying on our shoes, especially daddy's boots.
EJ throwing a fit when Zach tries to take them away from her. He had the boot in his hand and he was hanging, not going to give up!

This month has been a tough month for me as a mom. The kids are growing up so fast. It is hard to see my baby become a toddler and realize I will never get that back. She has come out of her shell and her personality is strong! She is so much like her Daddy, very passionate, easy going, busy, but boy is she stubborn! I think she is hitting her terrible two's early and Wyatt is really testing the three's all at the same time! As an only child, the fighting and arguing is so foreign. Zach keeps telling me it is normal but all I wanted was a brother or sister so I cannot understand why they are so ugly to each other sometimes!
I am so thankful for the MDO program this past month. Wyatt and his best buddy Brock were in the same class and they had a ball. Wyatt is so funny when he come home from school, because his imagination is so vivid and the stories he tells are great. Apparently, Brock was talking about a roof leak they had and Wyatt comes home telling me, " Mommy, my room is flooded, water everwhere coming thru my fan and there are sharks in my room, red dragons, and a fox." So serious about it too! EJ went for the first time and did great. She did not cry when I dropped her off, and I have to admit it made me kinda sad. All the other kids would be screaming for their mommies and Bug was happy to get out of the house and have her own thing. She did bite a little boy, which I was mortified about...especially after the first week of being there and getting the "blue" slip. (The blue ship indicates your child bit today) Everyday I would hold my breath and ask, " How did June do today?" Finally, at the end of the month her teachers said she did get a blue slip in her bag... but she was the victim this time! Thank goodness! Aug is going to be rough without MDO!

Zach and I enjoyed a night out last night without children. Skeet and Nini volunteered to keep the kids and we always take up free babysitting! We went out to eat then were really adventurous and headed down the street to The Bar. I honestly have not been out in Midland since Wyatt was born... so three years. It felt like 10! We use to go out I notice all the "old" people at the bar.. now, I am old. Everyone was young, babies... The smoke made us sick walking in so we had to sit outside! All in all, it was nice to get out and about, realizing that I am officially middle aged. What happened?! Zach had is 15 yr reunion last weekend so it is all hitting home. We have been out of college for 10 years! Time flies.

What a week

The bottom picture is our class.. remind me not to look into the sun and sit next to the hot instructor.. especially after doing Fran as our workout in 100 degree heat! I promise to post pictures of the kids this week!

I was afraid to blog last week, I had lost my patience as a Mom. Embarrassed to admit it, I was in need of a break from my kids. Perfect timing because Zach and I went to Ft. Worth for the Cross fit certification. It was a humbling experience in itself, but at least I did not have whinny children and the word "No" coming out of my mouth every other word. It is so hard to remember the kids are 18 months old and 3... they are testing and pushing the rules and boundaries already! What does this mean in 2, 4, 10 years?! The good news is I had 2 days to regroup.. the bad news is it is Monday and after a weekend of fun with grandparents it is difficult get back on schedule. Today at the grocery store the kids were fighting the entire time.. Emily June would grab Wyatt, pinch him then Wyatt would scream. Over and over to the point where I just looked at them and said, " Keep your hands to yourself and keep your mouths shut. Or I will pinch you both so you will quit doing it to each other" Some lady in line followed me to my car and gave me a booklet than said "How to discipline and raise children." Seriously?! She must be single with a cat that takes care of itself. Then she proceeded to tell me the Jehovah Witnesses will come to my house and give me the entire book not just the insert if I need it. At that point, I wanted to say, " Will they watch my children so I can go to the grocery store alone next time?!"

Regardless of today and last week the kids had a great time with Skeet and Nini and Zach and I realized how much we like Ft.Worth. Whole Foods alone would convince me to move. It has to be the best experience for any mother/wife.. which means I am definitly getting older! Zach and I got our tails kicked in on the Level one certification... We learned a ton and I can hardly get out of bed today. Touching the top of my thighs hurts in itself.... I have never done so many air squats in my life. Yet, it was motivating.. got us both back to the basics and back on track. The Crossfit people are incredible, I just hope I can continue to improve!

Navy Seals Challenge

Joe, Zach, Shannon, Miranda, Bryan, Tom, Patrick, Daniel (CF visitor from Houston)

Zach participated in the Navy Seals Challenge on Saturday.. yes, for fun! We both work out with a guy who is training to be a Navy Seal and asked Crossfit to participate.. I am glad I had the kids as an excuse to stay home! The team did great, Crossfit came in first... the Navy team came in 3rd5 Not bad! The best part is our teams average age has to be somewhere around 37 compared to all the young kids and other athletes out there. So no more excuses for getting older! They started at 6:30 with 500 M swim, followed by push ups, pull ups, and ending with running.... Good job guys! Oh, and Tom who served our country in the Navy.. was reminded that he still has it!
