Spaghetti Face

Hello Spaghetti... Wyatt loves spaghetti, but every time he eats it this is what I end up with. As a mom, it is sad that I do not feed it to him as much as he would like or I could for the simple fact of the mess! Jennifer M taught me that you can add veggies in the sauce and the kids never know the difference so I really should find an easier and cleaner way with spaghetti. Did I mention it stains everything too!!

I finally had time to read a book this weekend.. it has been a while since I had the chance to open and finish a book in 2 days... I forgot how much I like to read, despite the fact my reading time was at midnight to 2AM... so I sacrifice sleep! I read the Last Lecture, by Randy Pausch... it was a very good book taught me many lessons about what I could maybe should be doing. Two things that really stood out were the fact that he said he was glad to know that he had time to prepare for his death and leave videos and a legacy for his kids. This hit me hard, bc if I died tomorrow would the kids know who I am? So, I hope to start journaling my favorite memories and (maybe this blog is part of that)and specifics of what makes each child so incredible. The other lesson was his dad took he and his sister to the toy store and told both of them.."if you can agree on one toy to share, I will buy it." What a great idea... hopefully we will be able to use that in our situation with Wyatt and June (not necessary with toys, but everything.) The one thing that I did not agree with was the fact that he did not want to talk about his faith bc it "might offend people." I think this is the perfect opportunity for him to be able to show how his faith has gotten him to where he is and bc of that he is able to have this outlook on life. My opinion of coarse!

Well, the other fun thing this weekend was Zach and I were laying in bed SAturday night and the phone rang about 10:15... we were listening to the answering machine (bc we can never find the two phones in our house) and a lady from St Anns said "Vickie Doss, you are the winner of the new Ford Edge!" We thought it was a joke, I called her back and started jumping up and down! Who wins a car?! I never even won a cake at the cake walks! Actually, the credit goes to my mother.. Have I ever mention how incredible generous she is? She has always thought of others and the neat thing is it is so natural.. and true. She was in a co-workers office last week and saw the stack of raffle tickets... She asked him if he was going to sell them? He said " no, I just plan on donating the money." Mom said, "Well I buy some" and bought $20 worth- she put my name on them (yes, she still spoils me to this day!) and emailed me saying "good luck if they call you..." I laughed, deleted the email and went on. Zach had no idea so the phone call was a complete surprise. So off a dollar ticket, we won a car.. how cool is that?! Thanks mom...you are the best... not just bc of the car, but bc of who you are and your actions always amaze me! So, today we get to see and pay the taxes etc..

So, it was a good weekend overall!
