We went out to the CAF airshow and had such a good time. A great weekend filled with more memories. Thank goodness for good friends and family.

Lubbock fun

This past weekend we took a family trip to Lubbock to see the US gymnastics tour. It was awesome. Those athletes are amazing. I really do not think people can appreciate their strength until you try to hold your body weight up on rings!  Zach and I both appreciate the strength of others, it was fun to watch and see people succeed at what they love though hard work and a lot of practice. The kids enjoyed seeing the girls.. especially Gabby after watching them on TV though out the Olympics.
One thing that that did not go as planned was Zach was called out right before the show and disappeared. It was the announce who was looking for a "Daddy" to fit in for a skit. They sure picked the right guy. The problem was the kids could not concentrate or enjoy the show bc they were worried where Zach was the entire time and why some strange man came and took him. Finally, he shows up on stage... a bit of relief! He does two skits, and basically gets to watch the show with the athletes. I was so proud! He was hysterical. The kids were in disbelief.. but now think it is pretty cool daddy was on stage.
Before the event, Zach gave us a tour of Tech. I actually went there, but since I have not been back in years, the campus has changes so much. So many new buildings, stadium, parking garages, apartments where the ghetto use to be, and of course the new soccer complex.. it is a different place. So nice and the campus looks great. Zach reminisced though his favorite old buildings, and the kids seemed somewhat interested. They actually were more excited about taking pictures with the statue and seeing the horse Soap Suds.
